A place to explore your deepest thoughts through writing. We publish fiction pieces that are between 2,500 and 10,000 words in length revolving around mystery and crime fiction.

Guidelines for Submission

Darkest Before The Dawn is a place to develop your ideas for short ficition stories that requires more than 1000 words to tell. Preference is given to mystery and crime fiction, however a well written story close to mark deserves a home too.

Fiction up to 10,000 words is allowed that are fairly well editted. You, the author, retain the copyrights to your material.

No gory torture or graphic sex. Be good and let your audience fill in the spaces with their imagination. You are encouraged to respond to comments posted by readers.

Where to point the gun (submission information)..... Email your story to darkestbefore@sbcglobal.net with Submission in the comment line. Due to length, stories should be included as attachments in MS word format. Include a short bio or where you can be contacted. I will not post anonymous submissions.

Average posting time is 2 to 3 days.
